The Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD) was formed in 1950 to have a supervisory Board which could lay down quality standards for all areas of Highland Dancing.
The British Association is a Registered Friendly Society No 11 SA (5) and is represented on the British Dance Council, The Sports + Recreation Alliance and The Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.
The Scottish Dance Tearchers' Alliance is a dance association recognized worldwide, with principal branches in Ballet & Theatre, Ballroom, Baton, & Cheer & Highland.
The UKA assists dance teachers worldwide by providing their pupils with Achievement Awards for all ages & abilities, in all styles of Dance.
